Jesus and Roxana Hernandez handcraft this lovely Mexican alebrije hummingbird of copal wood. Each alebrije is unique, with the artisans using the natural shape of the copal wood to help determine the final form of the carving. With dark red and blue plumage tipped in golden yellow, it will delight you with all the hand-painted details. The bird has an unobtrusive hook on its back for easy hanging, and the wings and tail are removable for convenient shipping. Small parts are separated for shipping to protect from breakage.

"Question???"
I gave fanciful flutter to my daughter and she asked me why there were one extra hole on each side of the bird.

"Brings a smile to my face!!"
This ornament is so well made and painted so it looks magical ! I love birds but especially hummingbirds! I hung it over a plant in the kitchen. Its a real conversational piece ! Makes me smile.
