Coconut shell sculpture, "Sea Turtles"
Keeping alive the artisan heritage of her late husband, Putra Suteja, Eka removes the husk from a coconut shell and polishes the piece to a sheen. She then carves sea turtles swimming amid underwater ferns, so that the images perforate the shell. The sculpture stands on an albesia wood base.
Please note size and coloring may differ as the artist works with natural coconut shell.

"A perfect precious memory sculptured angel"
A perfect gift for our youngest grandson whose mother, our youngest daughter, lived in Indonesia twice during schooling on foreign exchange. Having also visited Bali, observing the excellent craftsmanship of the people, this angel wooden sculpture has significance in bringing back many precious, lovely memories. Simply beautiful!
