The chakana or Inca Cross is an ancient symbol representing the empire's traditional worldview, symbolizing the union and communication between the natural and spiritual worlds. As a sign present in many classic artworks, Peruvian artisan Waldo Berrios draws inspiration from the figure and crafts this reversible alpaca blend scarf in a palette of warm and dark shades, with a soft surface that makes it a cozy garment perfect for this winter.

The material is a blend that includes 5% wool. Unfortunately, I have allergy to wool and my neck itches when I wear the ruana directly on the skin. This problem is easily solved but I would encourage Mr. Berrios to consider replacing wool with a different material, maybe more alpaca wool in the blend.

This is so gorgeous and warm and stylish! I love indigenous patterns and artisan work, and this is my new favorite topper for cool weather (I live in LA). I wore it to an art event with jeans and plan to wear it to dressy events as well. I love that it is reversible also, so you can emphasize either the black tones or the brown tones.
