From the Sanskrit word for "circle," the mandala has long been used in the Hindu and Buddhist religions as a representation of the cosmos. Originating from a simple dot at the center, the mandala pattern branches out in concentric lines and curves to form a geometric design in cerise red on a white background. Surrounded by rose red and amethyst purple paisley, the mandala is designed by Indian artisan Osho Maharaja and screen-printed onto cotton fabric to be displayed as a wall hanging or even as a bed cover.
