The Mossi people of northern Ghana refer to their good grandmothers as Yabpoka, inspiring Ila Suleyman to design a necklace of stunning elegance. "I created this design in honor of my own grandmas, and all the grandmothers around the world," says the Ghanaian designer. He crafts the necklace by hand with ornate terracotta beads, as well as sese wood and blue beads recycled from different plastic sources. Centered by a bull horn pendant, the necklace also features cow bone beads adorned with batik techniques. Closes with a brass clasp.
Batik motifs may vary slightly.
Loved my other necklace from Ila but this one is just a bit off. One of the large beads near the bone is drilled off center so it way out of line with the other beads. Just fair.
