“Hello friends, my name is Medha and I come from Patna Bihar. I am a very passionate person and I see beauty in everything around me. As a child, I was always very facinated by colorful jewelry, especially earrings. I have a fantastic personal collection of earrings from all over the country. I am basically an academician and journalist by profession, but a poet and writer at heart. My encounter with arts and crafts just happened purely out of my keen interest in hand crafted items.Nobody taught me; I learned myself by exploring the different media. Sometimes I do workshops for college students.
“In 2011, my husband left his job as a professor of political science and became a full-time activist for an anti-corruption movement in order to support ”green and clean” politics and to empower the communities where he works. One day I got the inspiration that I should start designing and creating earrings. Since that day, I have designed and made more than 100 unique and artistic earrings.
“I work with different combinations of materials, from silver, copper and brass to wood, cultured pearls clay, etc. I also enjoy paying with metal wire and making different designs. I get my inspirations from my dreams, nature and the great folk heritage of India that is in everyday life. Playing with colorful beads and different metals results in unique pieces of art. I am highly passionate about jewelry designing and making. I seek motivation from nature. Nature all around unfolds creativity. During the last few years I have worked hard day and night to master this art. I have travelled a lot to find the perfect materials for my designs. I researched a lot about materials, but for designs I trust my intutive mind and nature. That is why my designs are very unique. Sometimes I see designs in my dreams. I can say this art of jewelry designing has been my hidden talent, but I have discovered and sharpened this in recent years.
“Life teaches you many things, and I have also gone through many difficult moments in my life; and with the divine grace I can come out beautifully from those moments. I cannot forget that in 2001 I lost my son of just 8 days. That was the most difficult moment of my life, but by the divine grace I experience the presence of my child in every flower. I feel that my son is smiling through every sunflower, giving the message of being in joy and of moving ahead.
“I want my handcrafted jewelery creativity to grow beautifully. And through that I want to share my creativity, love and harmony with the entire world. My dream through this work is to earn not only money but friendship, love and trust around the world, and to share this prosperity and abundance with my community and country. I have a dream to transform people’s lives by setting an example of a life that is a source of divine light and divine love.”
