Playful forms and bright colors combine in this decorative African mask the artisan titles Bibawa, meaning "goodness" in Kinsongo-congo. Ghanaian artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu hand carves the mask from sese wood and creates eyes and cheeks out of triangles of stamped plates of aluminum painted black accented in golden tan. The elongated, smiling face is painted ochre with brick red lips and a black forehead with additional golden tan accents. The mask is framed by a dynamic zigzag shaped border painted blue with black and red accents.
