Portraying the love between a mother and her child, this sculpture is named Obaatan Pa, meaning "good mother" in the Akan language of Ghana. Daniel Asante creates this sculpture, which he hand-carves from sese wood. Finished in a solid black hue, the abstract forms of this duo lend an artistic touch to any space.

"a favorite acquisition"
I have purchased several masks. Each has been interesting in its own way but I think this one is my favorite and now hangs in my office where I can see it all day. I love the surface patterning and the unusual facial expression and configuration.

"Perfect"
