Bandhani is a tie-dyeing technique practiced mainly in western India. Intricate patterns are created by wrapping the fabric with string before dyeing it. When the fabric is untied, natural patterns appear in the places where the string prevented the dye from taking hold. Bandhani cloth is often used for women's shawls, but here the technique is adapted for a silky top. Made of a black viscose rayon knit, the top drapes beautifully and features three-quarter length sleeves.

I have bought several dresses from this artisan...and this particular dress is one of the best yet. The colors are vibrant, the style is very flattering, and it is exceptionally comfortable to wear. I am an archaeologist working in the Middle East, and I was so pleased that I received the dress just one day before leaving for the excavation. It was the first item I packed....and I am so looking forward to wearing it often.

I love the design and colors in the mittens and matching hat. When I bought a new winter coat for a New England winter this year I made sure that the coat coordinates with this set!

I am always afraid sweaters will be too baggy. This one fits well and is very flattering. Color and style are timeless. Good quality.
