The two copal wood figures are alebrijes, a tradition of painting hand-carved animal figures in bright colors and wild designs. These two were created and signed by Gerardo and Teresa Ojeda of Oaxaca, Mexico. The wings detach for safe shipping.

"Welcomed but not same standard"
The Mama Possum and her Cubs are among by favorites from four artists. However, the detail for the Jaguar is simply not the same as the picture. With a somewhat flat face, the nose does not rise at all as just one example. Disappointing compared to two dozen others that had no issues.

"Luis the Curious"
What a GEM! The packaging was ingenious and so secure. The enclosure said to name this darling little creature and I did. He is now, Luis, after a beloved deacon friend who lives far away. This little guy has a glint of humor and curiousit in his face. I just love my Luis!

"New Family is Wonderful"
Size, colors and expressions of Mama and all the cubs are truly unique. The sculpture stands out on its own compared to others in the collection.
