Black and Ivory Table Runner, "Chakana Energy"
The chakana, also called the Inca Cross, is one of the most enduring symbols of the Inca civilization. It represents the three levels of existence: Hana Pacha, the upper world inhabited by the gods; Kay Pacha, the world of our everyday human existence; and Ukhu or Urin Pacha, the underworld inhabited by spirits of the dead. Working on a pedal loom, Fredy Huamán in Peru creates this stunning table runner from wool and cotton blend yarns on a cotton warp. The black and ivory runner makes a dramatic accent to home decor.
