Ghanaian designer Rapheal L. Commey names this African mask Suumo, which means "love" in the Ga language. Hand-carved from a single piece of sese wood, this mask features a red-orange color with the image of two love birds that bring their beaks together to hold a small brass accent. Patterns decorate the eyes, cheeks and chin of this mask, which is rubbed with clay for a rustic finish.

"Attractive but very small"
I love the colour, shape and expression of this little guy, but its much smaller than I expected. It might actually be the smallest mask in my collection now.

"This now hangs in my bedroom!"
After going on a Safari in Tanzania I came back painted my bedroom and redecorated in an African theme. this beautiful wooden piece adds a great deal to the overall motif . It is a very good quality. The colors have inspired me to make another bed quilt using indigo blue as my focus. I am very glad I found this site.
