Often used to embody the relationship between Java and China, the phoenix Lokchan is featured prominently on the claret red surface of this shoulder bag from Bali. Local artisans craft it of cotton, featuring two straps that knot together at the top and a button closure. The designs are achieved using the batik method, where a wax resist is drawn onto the fabric before colorful dyes are added. Inside of the bag is a black lining with a zipper pocket and an open pocket for organizing your valuables.
