Batik Tie-Dyed Cotton Scarf in Moss Green from Thailand, "Speckled Field in Moss"
Learning the craft from their mother, Thai artisan Chomsuda Samana and her sister work together to weave this cotton scarf by hand, adding fringes to the ends. They give the scarf a speckled look in moss green using a combination of tie-dye and the batik methods, a two-day process where the fabric is tied and a wax resist is applied to it before it is submerged in a vat of dye.

"A gorgeous top"

Lovely top perfectly sized. Just waiting for a chance to wear it with all the lockdowns going on. Next summer will probably see it get used much more regularly.

"Cute and comfy"

This was my second blouse like this, in a different color and pattern. Lightweight and airy, easy to wear and distinctive. I love them both, and they wash well and are easy to iron.

"When I look back at my decision to not go abroad, I don't regret it at all. If I had left Thailand, there'd have been no one to continue the batik work that my mother truly loves."
