Balinese Yoga Mermaid Hand Carved Signed Wood Sculpture, "Namaste Mermaid"
With eyes closed, a beautiful mermaid holds her palms together at the level of her heart. Yoga fans will recognize her pose as the namaste, or "greeting pose." Made Tresna carves the image from Balinese suar wood, detailing the lovely features while exalting the natural wood grain.

"It is filled with something rather wonderful"
I bought this for a dear friend. I call her a Mermaid, and she loves Yoga. I truly think the craftsman put himself into the figure as he worked. When it arrived I just stared at it, and put it in the sunshine, still beautifully wrapped. Visitors sat and stared too. I sent it on to my friend, who had the same reaction. She said it was as if each layer of wrapping was a prayer. It may sound fanciful but this is a very special Lady.
