In Ayacucho, Peru, the custom of creating sculptures from Huamanga stone, a type of alabaster, dates back to the 16th century. Religious themes have long been popular, particularly nativity scenes. Artisan Carlos Galvez hand crafts a traditional nativity scene with a group of six figures which reside inside this small barn with a sloping roof. Mary, Joseph and an angel look on the Baby Jesus as a cow and a donkey provide warmth to the newborn.
Please note: The figures within the nativity are fixed in place and cannot be removed.
"Exquiste artwork in stone"
so sweet and delicate looking; such detail, love the small size, arrived safe and well protected, wrapped in beautiful kraft paper with ribbon with a doll in the center, I only wish there were more animals or angels or the Maji to purchase to add to it, I display year round; Love it can't say enough about it and the Good Work of Novica around the globe.
