Mexican artisan Alejandro Esesarte's passion for handicrafts is in his blood. He states, "Since I was a child I've felt an affinity for art; my mother used to paint...90 years ago my grandmother created a large metal plate adorned with a butterfly, the technique she used was similar to plasma cutting, but more rudimentary. I was inspired by it and began to work with metal because of its versatility." He creates this spectacular wall decor by cutting steel using a plasma torch to create the mesmerizing figure of a mermaid and then painting the aquatic creature by hand. Straw and wheat colors highlight her brown flowing tresses, and her breathtaking fish tail is decorated in azure hues. The statement piece can be hung with the hook that is attached on the back side.

We fell in love with the smaller one and bought it about a year ago and then we saw this bigger one and it is even more detailed and just as beautiful. They both are treasured works of art in our home.
