Artisan Crafted Original African Mask with Colorful Finish, "Koomli"
Bold angles and curves combine to form an appealing design in this original mask from Ghana's Awudu Saaed. The wood mask is carved by hand and painted with great detail in black, green, gold and russet. The artisan adds aluminum accents to the cheeks of the elongated visage. He names the piece Koomli, which means "in the bush" in the Ga dialect.

the mask has a dynamic presence in my home. I love the bright color as well as a symbol of two diamonds for lessons to be taught.

"Love the bird"

this mask has a bird looking backwards. This shows that our past must be learned to forward. I totally believe we should review and learn from our past at least who we are. I am studying my genealogy and this fits perfectly in my office.

"Beautiful addition to collection"

This is so beautiful and just the right size. It fills out our collection nicely and with depth and texture. I was looking for something smaller to balance out the larger pieces and this was perfect. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the metal overlay.
