Mainly employing onyx and marble sourced in the Mexican states of Puebla and Oaxaca, the Sierra Family produces handicrafts whose quality attests to their many years of experience working with these materials. Here they present an onyx table lamp with a modern flair. Consisting of a rectangular cylinder which twists and turns, the striking lamp has a shape which further highlights the wondrous beige and white streaked quality of the natural stone material. Within the lamp is a white light fixture which takes a 40 watt light bulb (not included). The switch is located on the cord.
Sierra was diagnosed with Polyneuropathy when she was 40 years old, which is a condition in which a person’s peripheral nerves are damaged. She had experienced 15 years of suffering, yet through her struggle she never gave up and always found a way to rise above her diagnosis. She has astounded everyone that had the opportunity to be in her presence because even though she had been paralyzed, she exemplified strength and the healing that comes from remaining positive through misfortune. She calls her recovery, "a miracle of God."
