The myth of the torito de Pucará, or the Pucara bull, tells the story about Pucara, a drought-ridden village that decided to sacrifice a bull in order to bring rain. On its way up to be sacrificed, the bull resisted, piercing the side of a mountain with its horn, creating a flood of water from the mountainside that brought great joy to the village people. Peru's Maribel Posso Olivares draws inspiration from that myth, crafting this bull figurine from ceramic and painting it by hand in aqua with metallic-colored accents and multicolored floral motifs, blending Peruvian and Spanish art styles for a charming sculpture.
