Andean Folklore Handcrafted Bull of Pucara Vessel Figurine, "Black Bull of Pucara"
Shipping Timeframe: 3 to 6 weeks. Delivery Estimate
Working in ceramic, Walter Jose Acosta depicts a whimsical bull wearing flowers and covered with pre-Hispanic motifs. The torito de Pucará is celebrated during cattle branding ceremonies to ensure the animals will be fertile, and it is believed that the little bull guards families and households. A fusion of native Andean and Spanish imagery, these fancifully decorated bulls are crafted in ceramic in the town of Pucará.

"One of my favorite things"

My black bull of Pucara is placed to greet me every morning as I leave my bedroom. I pat his head. Just looking at him makes me happy. The artistry of this piece is notable, but it is the spirit infused in the figurine that makes it special. I bought other of Mr. Acosta's pieces since I received this one. It is a perfect size for display. I am researching the history of the Legend of the Black Bull of Pucara. This fellow is inspirational.

Came exactly as pictured and described. Very nice craftsmanship with a nicely painted and antiqued finish. A lovable display piece and a reminder of my trip to the Sacred Valley of Peru.

"Hey, I Know You!"

I had a vision of these entities protecting me in an Ayahuasca ceremony. I had never seen or knew anything about them before. Then one day I stumbled across them on the Novice website, and I couldnt believe my eyes. They look extremely similar to what I saw in my journey. They items were in great condition and are made with excellent craftsmanship. Thank you!
