The mat is crafted in the traditional folk art known as arpilleria, a three-dimensional appliquéd textile that frequently depicts pastoral scenes. It lovely! Only minus is the disproportionate sizes - birds larger than monkeys and people, for example.

"So adorable!"
The detail in this is amazing, down to the tiniest flower. I just love it!! I will buy one or two additional pieces (different motifs, of course) and hang them in a spot that I have already chosen in my home. BTW, I was pleased to find a pocket on the top of back for a rod to fit through.

"the work is lovely...the packing subpar"
the work is stunning. however, because of how it was packaged, some of the flowers arrived bent, and i have been unable to flatten the petals, despite a heavy book on them for a couple of weeks now.
