Daniel Asante relies on his observation of nature to design this novel mask. Carved by hand, the personage reveals simian features that merge with the zebra's stripes. Dappled color surrounds the eyes and covers the lips. Multicolored pompoms hang from the ears.

"not my first with this artist"
Ive been collecting wood carved masks for twenty five years. This particular artist I have a couple of Daniels works and they are excellent.I only hope that NOVICA and National Geographic are taking good care of these artists. I think Ive bought around fifteen and all are outstanding.

"a favorite acquisition"
I have purchased several masks. Each has been interesting in its own way but I think this one is my favorite and now hangs in my office where I can see it all day. I love the surface patterning and the unusual facial expression and configuration.
