An intelligent forehead, even features and sensuous lips characterize this mask by Wilson Aboagye. It depicts a young chieftain from Ghana Dagomba tribe. Gleaming repoussé covers his smooth features, enhancing his innate nobility. Masks like this are used by dancers who train to perform for the chief. The dances celebrate his wealth and pay tribute to the ancestor spirits that have protected him.
