Details

This elegant African mask represents a happy family. Kobina Asmah works in native sese wood to carve the images of father, mother, son and daughter. "This expresses the concept of living together as one," he says. "In Africa, traditionally, the principle of sharing brings about unity and being each other's keeper. This forms the basis of the extended family system. I crafted this mask to drive our minds to the fact that in unity lies strength."

"Oba Wooden Sculpture Coloring/Quality Off"

This sculpture of the Benin Oba is rare, but the item I received did not have the richness of the picture. Also the sculptures coloring on the neck had bed a-lot when the item arrived. This was going to be a culmination moment of my current collection. .
