Inspired by African royalty, Ghana's Rapheal L. Commey designs this striking mask. This round mask is hand-carved from a single piece of sese wood, featuring narrowed eyes that are framed by a rustic beige body with black triangle patterns around the exterior. An ellipse of embossed brass decorates the forehead of this mask, which is named Ohemaa, meaning "queen" in the Akan language.

"Attractive but very small"
I love the colour, shape and expression of this little guy, but its much smaller than I expected. It might actually be the smallest mask in my collection now.

"This now hangs in my bedroom!"
After going on a Safari in Tanzania I came back painted my bedroom and redecorated in an African theme. this beautiful wooden piece adds a great deal to the overall motif . It is a very good quality. The colors have inspired me to make another bed quilt using indigo blue as my focus. I am very glad I found this site.
