Emblazoned with the Adinkra Hye wonnye on the forehead, this original mask is designed by Ghana's Abdul Aziz Mohamadu. In Akan, Hye wonnye means "That which cannot be burnt," referring to forgiveness. Mohamadu hand-carves the mask of African rubberwood and adorns with painted details as well as with glass beads in yellow, red, green and black.
