Carved of sese wood and covered with embossed aluminum sheet in green, this African mask features petite beads of recycled glass. Ghanaian artisan Abdulai Osman Adam crafts the mask by hand in the Nigil masquerade style of the Fang tribe, accenting it with brass eyes. Ngil masks are worn by Fang men during certain ceremonies held to welcome new members, as well as to bring criminals to justice.
