This original acrylic on canvas painting from Ghana's Seth Korkordi Selom has a wonderfully tribal vibe. The artist depicts the adinkra symbol known as denkyem (tortoise), which is a symbol of adaptability. Surrounding the figures are bold geometric motifs in brown and scarlet. Adinkra symbols are visual icons used by the Asante peoples of West Africa to represent a belief or proverb.

"Sources of Livelihood"
I bought a painting from Mr. Selom and took it to a framer without opening the box--we opened it together. Wow, what an impression! The framer was blown away too. It looked nice over the Internet, but sometimes things don't look the same live. This was even better--incredible colors. Kudos to the artist.
