Designed by Somu and Soma, this Indian silk shawl is handwoven on a traditional pit loom using Bishnupur double-ply silk. The hand-painted beige pattern set on a crimson red backdrop is inspired by a traditional wedding altar and is often created using rice powder. The name Basar means "wedding altar."
Please note: Due to the type of silk used and the method of weaving, small slubs may be present in the fabric; these should not be considered defects.
