Woodworkers of Guatemala Curated by: Koshari
Most of the items in this collection are puzzle boxes from Francisco Mendoza, Diego Mendoza and Salvador Petzey. Wood sculptures and masks are created by Rolando Soto, Vilma Leticia Chile and Diego Mendoza. Each piece is created from native wood, often using what is left over from other purposes. Diego says, "I like to work with the roots of the coffee tree. This is a good wood because it's something people usually throw away, and they never take the time to see beyond this and understand that each root has the potential to become something unique and wonderful. About the Curator
I love world cultures, art, archaeology, ancient history and anything ethnic and tribal. I'm an advocate for human rights and the environment. I'm a 3D content creator in various virtual worlds. I love curating for Novica! It's a balancing act to add interesting and complimentary images from the mood gallery without taking away from, or overpowering the products ... it can be a challenge but one that I thoroughly love doing. There are so many great artisans to try to represent, I hope to eventually include all of them in my gallery.
