Calm the Blue Elephant Within Curated by: Koshari
Both Hinduism and Buddhism have symbolism and stories related to the Blue Elephant. In Buddhism it is said that there was a 'mad' elephant charging a crowd of people but The Buddha was able to calm him with his radiant kindness. To meditate on the Blue (or Turquoise) Elephant is to calm and tame that part of yourself that is destructive. Sometimes Buddha is depicted riding a Blue Elephant or as Blue Himself, representing this meditation. In Hinduism, Ekadanta-Ganapati is one of Lord Ganesha's representations. He helps one to clear away the destructiveness of desire and other unwanted qualities which attempt to control the mind. This collection features statues and other items for your home and to wear. Each is hand crafted by artisans in India, Thailand and Indonesia.

About the Curator
I love world cultures, art, archaeology, ancient history and anything ethnic and tribal. I'm an advocate for human rights and the environment. I'm a 3D content creator in various virtual worlds. I love curating for Novica! It's a balancing act to add interesting and complimentary images from the mood gallery without taking away from, or overpowering the products ... it can be a challenge but one that I thoroughly love doing. There are so many great artisans to try to represent, I hope to eventually include all of them in my gallery.
