Ceramic mask, 'Maya Tzompantli'

By Cindia
Great addition to my Memento Mori collection!
Life is fleeting so enjoy it while you can. What better reminder then this richly realized evocation of a past great civilization! A substantial art piece. Thank you, Novica!
Wood mask, 'Face of a Warrior'

By Bonnie
Museum Quality Jaguar Warrior
I received Face of a Warrior today and truly love it. Jose Canil Ramos is a very talented artist. This mask will have a prominent place in my house and will be greatly admired by everyone who lays eyes on it. There are scores of jaguar warriors out there created by some very talented artists. I have another jaguar warrior mask, which I also love, but this mask is more dramatic and compelling. When I saw it, I had to have it. Kudos to a skillful and talented carver!

Mexican Maya and Aztec Ceramic Skull Motif Mask, "Maya Tzompantli"
$107.99Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association create an original mask that blends elements of both Maya and Aztec art and culture. The face depicts the Sun Jaguar of the underworld seen in an incense burner from the Classic Maya site of Palenque. The mouth makes reference to Chac, the Maya rain god. Covered with skulls, the headdress is an interpretation of the Aztec a rack where the heads of sacrificial victims were displayed as an offering to the gods.
