African Black Ivory Coast Masks
I received my mask yesterday and immediately hang it in my living room. It looks gorgeous! I am very pleased and want to congratulate the artist.!
I have a wonderful mask collection.Recently I have started collecting African mask . I had seen the Novica site before but never really looked at in depth. I started to visit the Mask section over and over again. Now and again I would notice a particular mask. I kept coming back to this one. I finally ordered it on Nov 6th. It got here on the Nov 22. The hard part is the waiting but when I unwrapped it, I was so glad that it was even better than the pix in the catalogue. It fits in well with all of the other mask in my bedroom and this one is from a woman carver. It is beautiful and adds spice to my growing collection. I also love that I get the history from the artist about what it represents and what tribe it is from. It has spoiled me from buying from other vendors who don't have actual knowledge about what they are selling. I will keep checking this site to see what Eva Asantewa Amakye is making.
"I worked with the chief's head carver for about 15 years, during which time I learned the various styles and techniques of Ashanti and Akwamu traditional methods of wood carving."
