I love the brilliant colors of these beads and the double strand. I get lots of compliments on this unusual necklace.
I purchased "Tropical Belle" for my sister as a Christmas gift, and she loved it immediately. She wears it at least weekly as a statement piece with work outfits, and it looks as good as new, more than a year later. The fact that it's made of recycled plastic makes it all the better. Thank you to Rita for making such beautiful, lasting pieces from plastic that would otherwise fill landfills!
And I didn't even have to remove my shoes! The exquisite artistry strung in wooden beads speaks volumes of a vibrant culture. One can vicariously imagine the pulse of,say, a market on the outskirts of Accra where I might haggle good-naturedly over the price of her creation with Elizabeth Alorchie-Apetor! Africa travels well. kudos to the artisans' of NOVICA! Thank You Elizabeth! John.
"My forefathers were predominantly millet and cattle farmers, and they would use the leather of the animals for accessories such as talismans, bangles and necklaces for personal use."
