"Our jewelry is inspired by the beauty of Guatemala — our handwoven 'huipil' blouses, our flora and fauna, the imposing volcanoes, the saint's day fiestas and our beautiful people."
Lucia Moran is a woman filled with light and happiness, in love with every part of Guatemala. She has worked hard to preserve our cultural heritage, which has led her to cooperate in a number of satisfying and inspiring projects.
"I began painting when I was a young girl and, today, it is my main activity.
"I majored in archaeology and have a master's degree in cultural policy making. Everything related to art and culture has always impassioned me.
"The textile skills passed down over generations of Guatemalan women fascinate me. Their handloomed fabrics come to life in wonderful colors with complex motifs. Each design is special. So I began working with artisans in Sololá in 2009.
"Ever since this wonderful project began, it has filled my heart with happiness. Our principal objective has been to preserve our cultural patrimony, traditions and customs.
"Our jewelry is inspired by the beauty of Guatemala — our handwoven huipil blouses, our flora and fauna, the imposing volcanoes, the saint's day fiestas and our beautiful people. There's a little bit of our heritage in each one of our designs. They are decorative and utilitarian but they are also filled with good vibes and great dedication."
