"A very unique gift"
I was looking for a unique gift to give to a family member when I saw this soapstone box. It was perfect. It was actually larger than I expected, and the carving was beautifully done.

"Beautifully carved"
This artist and staff are masters of their craft. I gave one as a gift, but had to have one for myself. This piece reminds me of the strength of elephant families and how precious they are.

"Second elephant art purchased from Gulam"
Precious piece and worried about arriving safe and sound. Relieved packaging was so secure took me removal of several layers of wrapping to get to box! Superb crafting of many elephants (my favorite creature) and love round design and substantial weight and size. Only disappointment is not off-white or ecru color as shown online, but a much darker brown or grayish shade. Nevertheless, love his work. Wish Gulam could bring back dyed/colored soapstone that he used to craft years ago. I have one of his pieces of a soapstone multi-colored elephant small box which I truly treasure.

"All Shattered"
Every one I received was shattered beyond recognition. I received pieces of soapstone, they were securely wrapped, but demolished by the time they got here. Returns are to complicated to deal with, I cannot recommend this product.

Close to his eightieth birthday, Gulam continues the art he learned from his elders. His father was an marble carver and jali artisan honored with the state award for excellence. Gulam has been honored with the same distinction.
