Recalling the elegance of the ancient Majapahit kingdom in eastern Java, Balinese artisan Sarwaedi creates this elegant lidded box. The decorative box is hand-carved from mahogany with a floral relief and painted in rich colours with gilded accents. The word cupu means "small box" in the Indonesian language.

“Beautiful carved vessel”

This lovely piece came wrapped carefully in paper and arrived in perfect condition. You can smell the distinctive mahogy wood, which I enjoy. My only critique is that the vessel is more gold and less colorful than the photos would lead you to believe. Craftsmanship is excellent - the lid fits perfectly. Beautiful! Thank you!
