From the island of Bali, artisan Komang Sulaksana interprets the old Swedish tradition through his own lens, hand-painting each using pointillism, giving them detail as well as texture. Brightly coloured and richly decorated, the stout ornaments will brighten up any tree or mantel. Being social animals, all four horses are best kept together on the Christmas tree.

“Wonderful Horses!”

“Just lovely”

I bought these dala horses as a gift for my daughter. They are beautifully painted and I know shell love them. They arrived in a timely manner and I will definitely shop here again??

“Swedish ornaments gone tropical - how fun!!”

These remind my Dalarna horses from Sweden that they have cousins in warmer places! I love the tropical interpretation of the Scandinavian folk art horses, and will keep these on display year round!

“So many uses!”

The purple looks as if its dyed leaves. Such a rich, dark purple. The button is attached securely. The handmade paper is a bonus. I cant wait to use as a sketch book or journal in my travel bag. Very well made. Pretty enough to leave out on desk top. It would make a lovely gift for an artist, poet or anyone who likes to jot down their muses in a one of a kind notebook. Guest book in your guest room, family recipes for a niece or nephew, written story made up with a grandchild... The options are limitless.

“Magnificent!”

I ordered this as a gift for a friend. It arrived in perfect condition, beautifully wrapped in heavy paper decorated with a hand-made straw figure. The journal itself far exceeded my expectations-the cover is totally unique, and the mask and embossing on the cover are exquisite. The binding is sturdy and the paper inside is handcrafted. My friend and I were blown away by how much care and attention to detail went into this journal. 100% recommend. Thank you, Komang, for such a treasure!
