Alberto Aparicio Canchari crafts an endearing nativity scene featuring the Holy Family accompanied by the Three Wise Men. They all wear the traditional costumes and facial artistry that is unique to the Ashaninka people of the Amazon Rainforest. The master ceramist draws attention to the Ashaninka cause, for they are being displaced from their homeland by loggers. The set includes a donkey and a cow too, and all figurines are painted by hand with expressive detail. Set includes eight pieces.

“A new addition to my collection”

“My 41st creche”

I was thrilled with this creche (nativity scene) It is beautifully made and it arrived safely, packaged in lovely paper with bow and a little tiny figure attached! Such attention to detail! I have several other creches from Peru in my collection, but this one is very special and different.

“Interesting”

First of all, the execution of this set is excellent. I had debated about this purchase, just because of the interesting style of an Amazonian rainforest tribe. I am glad I made it.

“Wonderful sculpting.”

This Tree of Life is so very pretty, I am so happy I saw this and it was available. I love birds, flowers and leaves, and they are so beautifully done and placed on the precious tree. So beautiful, I love it.
