Signed Painting of African Symbols from Ghana, "Life in Focus"

With this painting, Ghanaian artist Mawuli Quartey celebrates the symbols that unite African people. In black on white, the symbols form a grid. This cultural composition includes the Adinkra symbol Gye Nyame, signifying the supremacy of God; a crocodile symbol that represents the ability to adapt to new situations; circles within a circle, signifying greatness; a comb, signifying femininity and patience; and many more.
