Signed Folk Art Painting of Lake Atitlán from Guatemala, "Lake Atitlán"

Located in the Sierra Madre mountain range, Guatemala's famous Lake Atitlán is captured in this breathtaking painting by Hugo Pichiya. He works in a pictoric folk art style, painting from a hillside trail where the lake unfolds. Just beyond a farm cottage and fields, two mountains rise in the lake's center. Says the artist, "Guatemala is a beautiful place to become inspired; in each small corner there is a marvelous landscape. We are surrounded by nature, volcanoes, mountains, and flora and fauna; we are very fortunate. It is because of this that I want to transmit these elements into my work."
