By Ghanaian artisan Ransford Bediako, this sculpture depicts a woman in a kneeling position as she balances a large bowl atop her head. The artist hand-carves this feminine sculpture from a single piece of sese wood, which is then treated with a polished black finish. It is named Somuyie, which means "hold me well" in the Akan language.

"Wonderful Piece!"
This Bediako mask is a great piece! The workmanship is excellent. I loved it as soon as I opened the package and love it even more hanging on my wall. Thank you, Ransford Bediako! I will think of you often when I see your piece in my home.
