Beautifully hand carved by Ghanaian artisan Kwasi Asante, this sese wood walking stick is topped with the adinkra symbol sankofa, which means "go back and get it". The symbol of the bird turning around to retrieve an egg on its back represents learning from the past or correcting one's mistakes. Originating with the Asante peoples, adinkra symbols are visual icons that represent common proverbs or characteristics.
