Details

Smooth contours join the figures of Rama and Sita in mythical harmony, as their peaceful expressions radiate the love felt for one another. Hero and heroine of the classic Hindu epic, the Ramayana, this pair is artfully imagined by Nyoman Indrawati Subrata of the Subrata Family. She carves the sculpture from fine mahogany wood, its rich grain overwhelmed by intricate details, especially in the magnificent headdresses. The artisan carries on the extraordinary art work of her late father, Nyoman Subrata.
