Original Signed Painting of a Pregnant Woman's Body, "Mother"

Working in a warm palette of browns and beige, Simone Valle depicts a woman in silhouette. She covers her breasts with one hand and supports her pregnant belly with the other. The portrait celebrates the universality of a mother's experience by not showing the face or features. "With this painting, I want to tell women who are mothers to be strong, be free," the Brazilian artist says.
