Watching over their tiny son, Mary and Joseph smile as shepherds worship in the blue Andean night. Beneath, an Andean hat shop offers sombreros for sale. Alejandro Chávez portrays the scenes on two levels in three dimensions. This traditional diorama is known as a retablo; each figurine is modeled and painted by hand.

"Cant wait to share with others"
For past two years have hosted a Nativity Open House with depictions from many countries/cultures. I especially like the cultural reference of the hat shop below. Just as many of us learn the story of room made for the Holy Family in the animals shelter, this shows room made for the birth and adoration of Jesus where a family makes their livelihood.

"Looks Great in my updated bathroom"
There is an amazing amount of detali in this little mirror. I recently painted and replaced the sink with a Mexican tile backsplash and this sweet little detail fits in perfectly.

Love, love, love this Mirror-retablo. Its one of my prized possession. Its so detailed, I have always been drawn to peruvian retablos and this artpeice fulfills being a mirror as well as a retablo. I just wish it was a tad-bit larger in size.
