Hand Painted Floral Ekeko Figurine with Wool Cap from Peru, "Joyful Ekeko in Blue"
With a variety of luxurious items, such as a house, money, and a car tied around his neck, Ekeko, the Tiwanakan god of abundance, is depicted here in this charming ceramic figurine. Peruvian artisan Maribel Posso Olivares paints the figurine by hand with floral motifs against a blue body, outfitting it with a multicolored wool chullo hat.

"A wonderful Jolly Ekeko"
I loved reading about the Ekeko fable, and this figurine is the perfect Ekeko. He is colorful, has a woven hat and lots and lots of presents. Most enjoyable and fun to look at. And, he indeed looks very jolly and makes me smile!
