For the indigenous people in pre-Hispanic times, jade, known as ya'ax chich, represented life, fertility, and power. Guatemalan artisan Zandra Lorena Sajbin works with this ancestral stone, which showcases natural hues of verde manzano, or "apple green." She hand-carves the pendant of this necklace to feature a ring with faceted edges that gleam in the light. This necklace circles the neck with an adjustable strand of black cotton cord.
