Working in the traditional style of Madhubani painting, Devendra Kumar Jha and Family in India create this wonderful pair of small paintings. The two paintings, rendered in black vegetable color on handmade paper, depict a majestic Tree of Life. Originating in northern Bihar, India, the folk art style of Madhubani painting was originally a way to decorate the walls and floors of homes. Common themes for the paintings were epic tales, mythology, and the harmony of nature.
